3 days in November spent in Assisi and in the surrouding areas. Fonti del Clitunno was really nice and quiet to see, with 2 funny geese.

We leave by car and go to Assisi. We start from the church of S. Pietro, go up to the spring Marcella, to S. Leonardo with its frescoes and arrive in Piazza del Comune with its numerous buildings including the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo and S. Maria sopra Minerva.

We descend to the New Church and the house of St. Francis and finally to the church of St. Clare. We descend towards S. Maria Maggiore and S. Crispino. Then we take the car and go to the Eremo delle Carceri, and visit it before the sunset. It’s almost dinner time but first we go to S. Damiano, then walk a little in the center. After dinner we see St. Peter, it’s still open. Later we climb up to the Basilica of St. Francis, which is lit up, it’s very scenic.

We start the day visiting the Abbey of Sassovivo, then we reach Foligno and we visit the historic center with the Oratorio della Nunziatella, S. Feliciano Cathedral, Palazzo Comunale, Museo Capitolare, Palazzo Trinci.

Later we continue towards Fonti del Clitunno where we walk a bit and relax, even if at our entrance 2 geese try to catch us (they seem annoyed by our presence). Our next destination is Montefalco, we enter from Porta S. Agostino and visit the nearby church of S. Agostino before reaching Piazza del Comune where there is the former church of Santa Maria di Piazza with beautiful frescoes. We also see the churches of S. Bartolomeo and S. Chiara with the Cappella S. Croce, here too there are beautiful frescoes. We go back to Assisi when it’s dark.
